A Message from Mr. Confesor
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Island Village Elementary School! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer filled with fun, relaxation, and memorable moments with family and friends.
This year, we are dedicated to unlocking the talents of all our students in academics, the arts, and athletics. Our motto for the year is "Kaizen," which is a Japanese term meaning continuous improvement. We look forward to fostering growth and development in every student throughout the year.
I ask that our parents and students review our school-wide SOAR expectations as we prepare for the new year. Our SOAR expectations are:

- Accept Responsibility
- Respect for ALL
We will be conducting quarterly student assemblies to review our expectations and set goals to meet them.
As we S.O.A.R. into this new academic year, I am excited to meet our new students while continuing to build on the relationships we have established since our school's opening.
Throughout the summer, our teachers and staff have been working diligently to refine our expectations for our peers and develop new procedures and systems that will be implemented throughout the school year.
Remember, each of our students has unique talents and abilities, and we are here to help you discover and develop them. Let's make this year a fantastic journey of learning, friendship, and fun.

Opportunities for Enrichment and AccelerationIsland Village is committed to meeting the needs of every child. We are committed to unlocking the gift of every child through the Renzulli school-wide enrichment model and our designated ELA / Math Academies. We also have homeroom classes in 2nd through 5th grade designated for our gifted and accelerated students. The teachers assigned to those classes are working towards or have earned their gifted endorsement.
