2025-2026 SDOC Arts Principal of the Year

Principal Audie Confesor

As we get ready for the 2026-2027 school year, I hope you’re having a fantastic summer filled with fun, laughter, and cherished moments with your loved ones! Summer is a wonderful time for our students to relax and unwind, but it's also the perfect chance to keep them engaged and set them up for a successful school year ahead.

One great way to avoid the "summer slide" is by diving into daily reading! I invite you to spend some time reading with your child or encouraging them to read independently for 15-20 minutes each day. This little habit not only keeps their skills sharp but also makes reading a fun part of their daily routine!

You can also add some math into everyday activities at home. Involve your child in cooking by using measuring cups and following simple recipes, or play fun games that involve counting and problem-solving. These little activities can make math exciting and reinforce important concepts in a playful way.

Don’t forget to visit the Celebration Library or Kissimmee Library this summer! Exploring new books and letting your kids choose topics that interest them can help spark a love for reading that lasts a lifetime.

As we look forward to the new school year, let’s take a moment to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our students and staff! The 2025-2026 PM3 FAST data showed an impressive 51-point increase across all eight categories compared to the previous year. This fantastic growth is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and families. While we’re proud of this achievement, we’re also aware that we came just shy of earning a school grade of "B" by only 1%, which is just six points!

We have so much to celebrate, but there’s still more to do. This year, I’ll be focusing on pushing even more family involvement and partnership. We know that when families and schools work hand in hand, our students can SOAR above and beyond expectations and do amazing things. Your support at home plays an important role with our students.

We remain committed to unlocking the gifts and talents of every student while meeting the individual needs of all learners. We can’t wait to build upon our successes, strengthen our school community, and help every child reach their fullest potential.

Thank you for being such an important part of our journey. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we’ll be excited to welcome you back for another fantastic school year!

Yours in Education
